ROV Deployment Systems (Goliath)

The Goliath series of ROV Deployment System offers the highest quality and specification of any ROV Deployment system on the open market, with operational and maintenance features developed specifically to increase equipment lifespan and offshore serviceability, with ever increasing operational weather windows and ultra deep water operations Seadrift was given the task to design and manufacture a series of launch and recovery systems for the future. In the design brief were the following needs:

  • to be ultra safe and reliable
  • to have a telescopic boom to enable safe landing of the ROV and work package directly to the systems integral skid base
  • to be able to automatically follow the fleeting angle of any winch system
  • to include mechanical inboard and outboard stops
  • to be re-mobilised quickly and easily

The construction of the main frame and hydraulically-damped/driven swing frame complete with self fleeting sheave wheel ensures the umbilical is not damaged during high loadings in ultra deep waters. The heavy duty base when ballasted is self supporting and is designed for 15Te winch line pull with minimum sea fastening. Installing all the hydraulic controls components in a single stainless steel operating panel makes maintenance extremely easy. Finally, the design capacity is l5Te SWL @ 25 degs side load with the possibility of increasing this by hydraulically retracting the boom during ultra deep water operations. All swivel and locating pins have Aluminium bronze bearings incorporated in their static and dynamic positions, this increases the equipment lifespan and improves serviceability offshore without the need for special tools and personnel. All Seadrift ROV deployment systems come with a 2 year manufacturers warranty.
